Alberta Park Reservoir

Alberta Park Reservoir

Ready for a high elevation lake day? Try 10,200 elevation!

Facilities- none

Description- Enter the left gate into wolf Creek Ski resort and look for small brown sign that says Alberta Lake. Proceeded through parking lot to the dirt road at the end. Follow that road all the way to the lake. The road is a gravel-ish road that I’ve seen cars on so if you do not have an SUV or truck you should be OK. It didn’t seem bad at all but travel at your own risk. The road opens to a beautiful lake. There are a few dispersed camp spots there. The lake can be walked around if the water is lower and is surrounded by a dense forest. There is a boat launch but the water can get low and be below the launch. Bring the canoe or paddleboard. Unless you’re in the trees the parts close to the shore do not have shade so bring sunblock! This is a high elevation lake and weather can change rapidly so be prepared for anything. Always check weather on Wolf Creek Pass before attempting.

Fishing is by artificial flies and lures only.

All Cutthroats must be released.

The bag and possession limit for trout is two fish.

There is a boat ramp, no wake allowed

Accessible by car

Closed while Wolf Creek Ski area operates between November 15- April 1

Must have a valid Colorado fishing license to fish!

For cross-country skiers- This is a 10km loop that begins at the very east end of the Wolf Creek Ski Resort parking lot.
