We anticipate 20 visiting hot air balloon teams, and their crews, as well as local sponsors, to participate in a weekend-long Pagosa Triathlon event, with the competition being held Saturday, March 26, 2023. This event will not only boost the lull between busy seasons and give locals something to do but will also bring hundreds of tourists into our community when our visitor numbers see a decrease between the busy seasons. The event begins Thursday evening with a welcoming banquet, where teams can meet sponsors and our visitors can become acquainted with Pagosa Springs. Friday morning our visiting pilots will fly media and sponsors, to give the outside world a glimpse of our beautiful mountain town and the activities that await. News channels, newspapers, travel bloggers, and influencers alike will take flight to see Pagosa from a different perspective. Friday night a community glow will illuminate the night’s sky. On-lookers may walk amongst the balloons and even become involved in the glow itself. There will be activities, a balloon search-scavenger hunt for children as well as goodies. The Triathlon Competition Day will be held Saturday, March, 26, 2023. A final farewell Mass Ascension flight will be held on Sunday followed […]
