Join us December 16th from 5-7pm for the 3rd annual Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration in downtown Pagosa Springs. Enjoy over 20 Christmas-themed displays and activities, a hot air balloon glow, live music, free hot chocolate and cider, games, toys and other goodies. And, of course, Santa Claus! Santa will arrive by horse-drawn sleigh at his workshop at the Visitor Center shortly after 5pm, with opportunities to view his arrival along San Juan Street and Hot Springs Blvd bridge. The route extends along the Riverwalk from Centennial Park to Town Park, crossing Veterans Bridge and down San Juan Street to the visitor center. Entry points for the walking route include (1) Town Park, (2) Visitor Center and (3) Centennial Park. Look for decorated white tents at the key entry points to receive decorative lights and a scavenger hunt card to win a free ornament. Attendees are encouraged to bring flashlights. Skate ski and classic cross country ski basics will be shared by some of Pagosa Springs’ best skiers. All free of charge. United Way Day at Wolf Creek Ski Area – Join United Way of Southwest Colorado (UWSWC) at Wolf Creek Ski Area for a fun day of skiing and snowboarding with discounted full-day lift tickets to benefit United Way nonprofit organizations in Archuleta County. Proceeds to UWSWC are invested locally to meet needs in the areas of education, financial stability and health.

The Hot Air Balloon Mass Ascensions, Sled Races, Cross Country Ski Clinic, Fat Bike Race, BB Gun Biathlon, the ever popular Penguin Plunge, and much more!
EVENT DETAILS Pagosa Nordic Club will offer different level races with Red Ryder BB guns. No gun or shooting experience needed. Great fun for all ages! Held at Yamaguchi Park. 16K competitive/4K citizens-youth/KidK Participants have three opportunities to shoot at targets in between ski laps. 16 km competitive starts at 10:00am, with registration/check-in 9:15am-9:45am KidK at 11am, with registration/check-in 10:15am-10:45am 4 km citizens starts at 11:30am, with registration/check-in 10:45am-11:15am Be geared up and ready for your start time. Racers will have an opportunity to test shoot at targets for one half hour before their race. Participants can either classic or skate ski. Sign up for the citizens 4K course or the competitive 16K course. The Kid’s race length will be determined based on the kids that enter. They love this race! The race fee is $5 for Pagosa Nordic Club members and $15 for non-members. Prizes for the top finishers and participant drawing giveaways immediately following the race.
