AUGUST 20, 2022 at Lake Forest in Pagosa Springs, CO Givin’ it a Tri (mini triathlon) includes: 5K RUN, 12K BIKE, and an estimated 2K PADDLE Complete the tri as an individual or with a team. The race event will be followed by an end of summer bash at Lakes Forest where we will have a cornhole tournament, food truck, beer garden, dj, and paddle board expos. We have always used this event as an opportunity to donate back to PSHS athletics. My hope is that you will all get involved along with your student athletes this year for a little healthy competition between PHS athletes. Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) will start Hosting Open Mic Every 3rd Thursday May through September 2022 Starting Thursday 5/19! The Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) invites the community to an Open Mic each third Thursday from May through September 2022. The free event is from 4:30pm to 7:30pm in Centennial Park at the GGP Amphitheater at 80 S. 5th St. The first scheduled Open Mic will be on May 19th. All forms of family friendly art and music are encouraged and welcome. A portion of the funds raised during these events will be used to jumpstart the future heritage food gardens surrounding the grow domes that celebrate and provide educational opportunities about the traditional plants, foods and cuisines of our Indigenous and Hispanic relatives and ancestors that have thrived here for generations. GGP is excited to host these free community gatherings, to connect spaces in beautiful downtown Pagosa Springs along the San Juan River, and to support GGP’s mission of educating the community in sustainable agricultural practices by producing food year-round using local renewable energy. A Weekend of Art, Food, and Music — The First Annual Pagosa Arts Festival is a curated selection of local and regional artists with various mediums, including ceramics, printmaking, glasswork, jewelry, mixed media, metalsmithing, and more. There will also be a range of food trucks to indulge your taste buds, as well as children’s art activities hosted by the Pagosa Arts Initiative, and live music throughout the weekend. Just when you thought storytelling was just for kids… Professional storyteller Kathy Santopietro will unpack a bundle of stories as she takes us on a journey around the world. Pianist Sally Neel will accompany the stories with familiar and global tunes. Doors open at 6:00pm for drinks and entertainment. Stories begin at 7:00pm. Lite hors d’oeuvres and drinks to follow. Event is for ages 16 and up. Proceeds will benefit our Mountains of Opportunity campaign to expand and renovate your Ruby Sisson Library.
A Weekend of Art, Food, and Music — The First Annual Pagosa Arts Festival is a curated selection of local and regional artists with various mediums, including ceramics, printmaking, glasswork, jewelry, mixed media, metalsmithing, and more. There will also be a range of food trucks to indulge your taste buds, as well as children’s art activities hosted by the Pagosa Arts Initiative, and live music throughout the weekend. DESCRIPTION Brilliant colors will be flying at Pagosa Springs’ iconic ColorFest Color Run 5k. As participants venture out on the course, vibrantly hued hot air balloons will be filling the skies along the entire course route from the annual ColorFest Weekend. ColorFest Color Run 5k participants will be transformed into a running rainbow as you run through vibrant colors at each color station you pass through. Not a runner, no worries as we will have two different divisions: one for those who wish to have their race timed and one for those who wish to just hop, skip, walk, saunter or roll to the finish line at your pace without any pressure of being timed. This race is for everyone – from the young to the young at heart! Add some color to your life and come out for a colorful good time that is fun for the entire family!
