Directions: From Pagosa Springs head West on HWY 160 towards Durango approximately 23 mi. Turn right onto Chimney Rock Ct/Lower Piedra/FSrd 621 for .02 mi. It’s the fist turn right after the Piedra river. Then turn left on Lower Piedra Rd for 1 mi. Continue onto USFS-62 for .02 mi. The campground is basically at the end of the road.
Facilities: Potable water, trash pickup, vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire grates.
Campground description: The campground has good tree coverage with nice spots for camping. The river runs close to the campground so its easy to walk over and fish. You’ll pass many fishing or lunch spots on the river on the way back to the campground. Right before you reach the campground you’ll pass a small mineral clay pool on the left which is fun to float in. Bring a floatie if you’re going to swim there, the water is pretty shallow and the floor is squishy clay. Bring sunblock! and you must have a valid Colorado fishing license to fish.
