Trail description: The trail is uphill for most of the way so be prepared and go slow if needed. Don’t let that discourage you from going, the trail is stunning and worth it! You travel through a beautiful wooded area and into an amazing aspen forest. Have your camera handy! The trail does eventually level out and you pass a lovely creek. The trail can be muddy early in the season or if there’s been a lot of rain so keep an eye on weather. Once you get to the lake there are places to sit, have a nice picnic and enjoy the views. Depending on the time of year the lake can seem a bit buggy, but you’ll notice that they are mostly just a few gnats that don’t bite, but if that sort of thing “bugs” you bring some spray. The nice part about the uphill on the way in is that it’s downhill going back to the car. Bring water for you and your pets. Bring sunscreen!
